TRUTHSEEKERS TAYSIDE.

As most of you may know, Welsh UFO researcher Matthew Williams set up an organisation entitled Truthseekers a number of years ago of which there has been a small number of 'off-shoot' groups containing the Truthseekers name to continue the same work in different parts of the country.

SPI member Steve Black has now formed a Scottish branch of Truthseekers, entitled, Truthseekers Tayside. Steve informed me that he is the Chairman of this group, and that the group's aims are to Investigate and debate, mysteries (ancient & modern). To research paranormal activity and UFO incidents.

They aim to cooperate and work with other like minded groups (including SPI he hastens to add). Also assisting Truthseekers Tayside, is psychic channeller Grahame Wyllie of whom we have read about through this SPI web site.

To find out more about Truthseekers Tayside, then contact Steve Black on O1382 665 246, or E.Mail him on : 197srb @tay.ac.co.uk

SPI OFFICE TELEPHONE NUMBER & PAGER NUMBER.
For those who as yet don't know about my new telephone office number and pager number, they are as follows.

SPI OFFICE TELEPHONE NUMBER: O1259 724512.
SPI PAGER: O4325 345 753.

You should be able to reach me (if I'm not working), on either of those numbers. With the pager, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

SPI ASSIST WITH RESEARCH AT HAUNTED ARBROATH ABBEY.
Paranormal researcher Pete Neeve who lives in Brechin and who runs the North of Scotland Paranormal Research Society, kindly invited SPI to assist him with a day time ghost vigil that he had arranged with the help of Historic Scotland. I travelled up to Brechin with SPI member Brain Allan from Kincardine on Friday the 2Oth of March where we met up with Pete and his lovely wife and discussed ghosts and all things supernatural into the wee small hours, (a nice change from UFOs !).

The following morning we got up bright and early and travelled through to Arbroath, in which the commanding structure of Arbroath Abbey loomed. Also Joining the Investigation, was Steve Black, SPI member and founder of the Tayside Truthseekers club, (see above) and psychic channeller Graham Wyllie.
Adam Allan and psychic Terry Salter were also in attendance. We began our vigil at O9:3Oam, and entered various parts of this impressive Abbey. Both Terry and Grahame detected numerous 'presences' who, we were told, were extremely interested in what we were doing.
Peter Neeve, had on a previous occasion, managed to obtain some strange sounds on an audio tape of which he left in an upstairs room in the Abbey (these consisted of strange foot-steps and soft moaning !) Both Peter and I left our audio tapes running in the same area (an alcove in a room) where we once more hoped that something strange would be picked up, sadly it wasn't. A cleansing procedure was conducted by psychic channellor Graham Wyllie in the Gatehouse part of the Abbey, afterwhich one of the Abbey's guide's was asked to come into the Gatehouse area and was asked how she now felt. (She and some others, did not like this area of the Abbey as it gave them bad feelings !).

After the guide had been in for a few minutes, she was happy to state that there was now a warm and pleasant feeling in the place, and that the 'heaviness' and 'unease' that she had before felt, was no longer there. More work was conducted at other parts of the Abbey, and we all left the area at around 3:OOpm. It had been an interesting day. The Abbey is a splendid building ( or should I say ruin). Of which most of it is made from red sandstone. Running your fingers across the sandstone made it come away, indeed, it was just like talcum powder, such was the ease at which the red sandstone crumbled into your hands. I hope to feature a full report on this Investigation in a further update soon. So look out for that. Plus I'll be showing part of this video at the upcoming SPI meeting on April the 8th at the Cowane Centre, Cowane Street, Stirling, time 7:3Opm.

SPI BONNYBRIDGE SKYWATCH.

On Wednesday the 11th of March some members of SPI joined together on the moors behind Bonnybridge to conduct a skywatch. Also joining us that night, were around 5 individuals from Stirling University who were in attendance to do interviews with not only myself, but other members of SPI. Essentially they were asking what we all got out of doing this type of work, (usually the cold, is what I said !). Also in attendance, was Kevin Schofield from the Falkirk Herald, who has been the chief reporter on news items regarding the UFO sightings over Bonnybridge over the past several years. Kevin has also appeared with SPI, on the Strange But True ? T.V. show of which one episode specifically dealt with the Bonnybridge UFO sightings, Kevin was also joined by a photographer from the local Falkirk Herald. Also joining the SPI skywatch that night, was BUFORA UFO Researcher, Judith Jaafar from London. Judith won an award last year at the BUFORA International UFO Congress in Sheffield, that award was for her services to UFOlogy, and it couldn't have went to a better candidate. Well done Judy. The sky was a bit overcast, but after a short while the skies cleared and a dazzling array of stars could be seen peppered throughout the night sky. Sadly no UFOs were seen that night, but what some of us did see, was something quite remarkable. I was fortunate enough, to be looking in the direction of a tremendous burst of a bluey white light which just suddenly appeared above a couple of fields near our skywatch location. In a sense, it was like a large fluresant tube that had just been switched on above those fields, albeit just for a few seconds. Upon the light's demise, I immediately turned round and asked the others if they too had seen this spectacular sight. One or two of them said they had, but the others had been looking in a different direction. I'm more inclined to put this strange light down to a natural cause, although, having said that, I cannot for the life of me explain it (as yet). What I could say, is that this light is similar to other 'light phenomenon' that have been seen in the skies throughout the world. Indeed, it was a feature of the recent 'Fife Incident' in which the startled witnesses claimed to have observed a large bright bluey white light, illuminate the field near their car. Indeed from the 'UFO INFO HOTLINE WEEKLY DISPATCH (Feb 23rd 1998), John Dixson (presenter of the UFO Hotline) we learn of some intense UFO activity near Norfolk in England which is ongoing right now, but that one of the main witnesses, David C. Observed on the 2nd of January this year, time 19:24, several split second flashes like a large giant flash bulb appear above his house. The witness states that it is not summer lightning or arching from some nearby railway lines. Strange light phenomena, is a big part of the UFO enigma, and we can but poise and wonder what is behind it. Earth Lights ? or something else ? If only we knew.

ANOTHER UFO ABOVE THE B.P. CHEMICAL PLANT IN GRANGEMOUTH. !

As most SPI members already know, Philip Trevis took a remarkable photograph of a UFO above the B.P. Chemical Plant in Grangemouth near Bonnybridge a few years back (1991). That photograph has appeared on the Strange But True ? Television show as well as being featured in a number of articles that I've written for a number of glossy UFO magazines. Just recently, Andrew Ellis from the UFO AWARENESS GROUP in Osmondthorpe near Leeds England, informed me that he had a witness contact him with a UFO sighting from Scotland. Andrew had already obtained some details from the witness, and asked me if I would continue the Investigation as I was more nearer than he was (to be sure !). The following report that you are about to read, is quite similar to the Phil Trevis one. Here is what the witness had to say.

"I was having a look out of my balcony when this object came across the water from Kincardine Bridge. There was no noise. It stopped in the air at the Oil Refinery for a few minutes, then continued on to the sports stadium. It then 'lit up' the stadium with a light so bright, it was like someone had turned night into day". (The witness was observing this phenomena at O4:O3am on the 2nd of February 1998). "I still thought that this was an aircraft. Then three phantom jets came across flying low because I could see the person. The object took off very fast and the jets couldn't keep up with it. The jets had no markings".

I dispatched SPI member Brian Allan to Investigate this case, and Brian having met the witness believes that the witness certainly has seen something, but not only that, the than one would normally expect to find. Also, black unmarked helicopters have also been in the area.

I have submitted letters of enquiry to various locations, Airports, the Met Office, the M.o.D. etc. The only one in so far, has been from the Royal Air Force at Leuchars near St Andrews in Fife. A Flight Lieutenant J.E. Taylor informed me that, "We are aware of nothing in the area of Grangemouth on the 1st or 2nd of February, and we did not dispatch any fighters or helicopters to the scene. Our aircraft are grey/silver, and we have no black aircraft apart from training Bulldogs. I think it very unlikely that there were any RAF aircraft flying at O4:OO, and I think that your witness is wrong in suggesting that there has been increased activity by black unmarked aircraft or helicopters since. You will appreciate that all RAF aircraft have distinct markings." Yours etc.

I await further replies, and once I have them I'll be giving an update on this incident in due course. My thanks to Brian Allan and Andrew Ellis for their help on this one.

CONFIRMED GUEST SPEAKERS.

SPI like to keep our members in step with all that's current in regards to the UFO phenomenon in this country, and as such, we will be featuring a number of lectures this year by various people. At the moment we have two guest speakers who have confirmed that they will talk to SPI. First up will be NICK REDFERN, who will speak about his new book 'The F.B.I. Files' and the facts contained therein. Nick will be accompanied by fellow researcher Irene Bott. Nick will be speaking at the Cowane Centre, Cowane Street on Saturday May 16th. Time 7:3Opm. He will be bringing along some copies of his latest book which SPI members may care to buy, (Nick tells me he'll happily sign them). I hope to have more facts about Nick's talk nearer the time so look out for that.

On Saturday July the 11th, SPI welcome UFO researcher and author (and also good pal of myself,) Philip Mantle. Philip will be speaking about his involvement in the infamous Roswell Alien Autopsy Footage, and will be bringing north, not only some of the better footage, but also footage of the 'Tent Scene' (some of which has never been seen before !) Philip's talk will also be at the Cowane Centre at the same time. Again more details when we have them.

Please take a note of these dates and add them to your diary, these are talks not to be missed.

Psychic channellor Graham Wyllie from Auchterhouse near Dundee, is also planned to talk later this year. Graham will be talking about his channelled messages from a space being called Josef. Josef is from the Council Of Nine. This may all sound bizarre, but nonetheless, people like Grahame should be listened to, for it would be a sad day indeed, if we threw the baby out with the bathwater. Should we knock something just because we don't understand it ? They laughed at man setting foot down on the Moon before he did it. They laughed at the Wright Brothers before they did it, who had the egg on the face then !! Let's hear what Graham has to say, you be the judge. Graham is open to taking questions and will answer anything you have to say. So again, look out for this talk, more details when I have them. Sadly, due to ill health, Jenny Randles has declined the offer from SPI to give us a lecture this year. Jenny has had to knock back numerous speaking engagements this year, (some from America), but she did inform me that she would be more than happy to speak to SPI next year. This is something that we will be keeping Jenny to.

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. IT'S TIME FOR ACTION. ?

Some of you may be aware that a certain Scottish UFOlogist by the name of David Colman, has, for the past few years, been attacking my credibility as a researcher through the pages of his magazine 'Cover Up'. I have let this go unchallenged over the years on the advice of both English and Scottish UFOlogists who inform me that this childish school yard behaviour, is born out of jealousy and frustration. But sadly after his latest attack on me in his recent issue of 'Cover Up' (issue 1O March 1998), I feel that I simply must respond to his unjust and vastly misleading and outrageous comments. I cannot let these inaccurate comments go unchallenged anymore, and, rather than go to a lawyer as I have been told I should, I have taken David's advice when he asks me in his latest issue for an interview to back up my claims and 'explain myself'.

I feel that it is in the best interests of those other Scottish UFOlogists that they attend a meeting with David Colman and I where I hope to clarify all that has been leveled against me. And so I will shortly be contacting those other Scottish UFOlogists to attend this meeting where we can debate these points and try and get some sanity back into Scottish UFOlogy. For as it is, these vastly misleading and inaccurate comments of David's must be addressed, and addressed where all Scottish researchers can hear and see what's going on. Its no use me doing an interview for David's mag where I may be misquoted or edited, I want YOU to hear what's being said, and not just my side, but David's side as well. I'm not that naive to think that there are not two sides of a story. Sadly though, David has only been telling the one side. It's now time to have a look at the other side of the coin.

This tiresome aspect of Scottish UFOlogy simply must get ironed out if we are to progress and get anywhere. It's no use attacking each other, we should all be on the same side working in harmony for the betterment of Scottish UFOlogy. As I say, I hope to arrange a meeting with several other Scottish UFOlogists where we can debate this issue. For it is a big issue, and it has to be sorted out. This meeting will hopefully take place in April, and I hope to be able to report on this in a future update on this web site. My voice should be heard, I can't ignore this as I have been told to do. Let's hope that things get sorted out. UFOlogy is all about UFO research, not the mickey taking of others. More when I have it.
