A POOR AND SAD MISGUIDED MAN !!!!!!!!

Being at the forefront of British UFOlogy, one comes in for a lot of stick. This comes with the job of course and I have no problems with that so long as it is honest and bears an element of constructive criticism. Over the years , I've had my fair share of these attacks and those people were entitled to their opinion. However, there is one sad and very misguided soul who continues to write about me in very unsavoury terms - not only that, he uses the valuable space in his UFO magazine to have a one page cartoon about me attacking my lifestyle and investigations. We all can have a laugh at UFOlogy and try not to take our subject too seriously, but this sad and misguided man, after years of trying, has finally got me to the point where I must reply and set the record straight, for as sure as the coin in your pocket has a head and a tail, there are two sides to this story in regards to what he is trying to accomplish at my expense.

The chap's name is David Colman of the Scottish UFO Phenomena Research Association, and if I weren't alive, he would have nothing with which to fill the pages of his uninformative magazine (which includes his cartoon strip about me and my research and life style) ! There is so much I could say to set the record straight with this guy that this whole February web page could be filled with it, however, that is not my intention. I do not wish to fill our web site with tit-for-tat tirades. I have taken advice from my lawyer which I aim to put into practice, and I have also listened to the advice of fellow Scottish UFOlogists who are fully aware of this man's insane attitude to UFOlogy and his trying to make a name for himself by attacking others. Some of his recent points on e-mails to myself and others are so far away from the truth, that it's actually comical. Anyway, I won't be drawn into any of this. I refuse to become involved and waste my time on people of this nature. I've said my piece here (so very, very little it must be said), but I did feel it necessary to inform the readers of our web site to be careful of this man and his inaccurate ramblings. The truth will always prevail, so all I ask you is to weigh up both sides of the story, and never, ever just listen to one side.

If anyone really wants to know how much I've tried to sort this issue out, (especially when I was in Scotland and wrote to all the Scottish UFOlogists to meet with Colman and me and hear both sides of the story), then please give me a call, I'd be only too happy to present the other side of the coin. As it is, I'd rather forget this man and his continuing inaccurate attacks on SPI. Let us now turn to other matters more fitting of your quest for understanding, and get away from the unfortunate people who pepper this planet with their inaccurate ramblings and sadness.

THE X FACTOR MAGAZINE ADVERT.

Around 5 or 6 years ago, British UFOlogy was flourishing due to the success of a number of T.V. shows like the X Files and Dark Skies. What was also noticeable, were the many glossy magazines dealing with the UFO issue which were on sale in many of the high street shops. Sadly, like the gold rush of yester-year, all this has died a death. Most, if not all of the once proud UFO mags have bitten the dust and only a few remain, of which the Birdsall brothers UFO MAGAZINE and the X FACTOR magazine are examples. Judith and I have just recently finished doing an article with the X FACTOR which should be out in a few weeks time. In issue 55, they ran a 'decent sized' advert regarding SPI ENGLAND which has proved to be quite beneficial to us, and has attracted a number of enquiries from the British public. This advert also gave out our web site address and I've noticed a considerable rise of visitors to our site since the advert went in. As you may know, I founded SPI Scotland back in 1979. SPI England has only been running since April 1998, but in that short time we have gained a number of members and intend to build it up even further. Publicity helps of course, and no-one will know about you without it, and thanks to the X FACTOR advert, we are taking more steps into making the public aware of those fascinating subjects that appeal to us.

UFOs OVER ALLOA !!!!!!!

It's funny how things happen. Prior to moving to London, I've lived in the small Scottish town of Alloa for most of my life. There have been one or two UFO sightings near the town, but nothing which would equal the many UFO reports that have been generated in nearby Bonnybridge. And so it was with much surprise that I read from my local newspaper, (The Wee County News) [my thanks to Paul Penman for sending it on] a story about a video which was taken by a local man which purportedly shows a UFO over the Forth near Alloa. Sadly the paper used the typical journalistic humour with the title "Aliens Over Alloa'. Basically what happened was that witness Mark Dysart (27), a local barber, was filming the night sky outside his home in Alloa at about 03:30 am on Tuesday January 12th. This is what he told the local newspaper:

"I am a keen skywatcher and I was looking at the sky for some shooting stars. I pointed my camera towards the river Forth. I didn't see it at the time with the naked eye". It wasn't until later when he looked at the tape that he noticed the strange object on it. The local newspaper took the video to a video expert (!) who had a look at it and a still from the film was featured in the newspaper. The photograph depicted in the paper shows a narrow triangular shaped object in the dark night sky which appears 'self illuminated'. I wrote off to the local newspaper asking them for more information, and should I obtain that information, then I shall of course let our readers know. Of course the object could be anything and we have to bear that in mind, but it was interesting to see that a story of this nature should make big press in my old home town. 'Aliens Over Alloa' indeed !!!!!!!!!!

BRIAN ALLAN IN THE NEWS.

Just before I left Scotland to come down and live in London, a chap by the name of Brian Allan joined SPI Scotland. Brian lived quite close to me (the town of Kincardine) and both he and I investigated a number of interesting cases together. Brian has come on leaps and bounds with SPI, and his enthusiasm and dedication were always evident and most impressive. I told him many times how I wished that I had met him years ago - what an asset and acquisition he would have been for SPI. Now that I am living in England, Brian constantly keeps in touch informing me what he is up to, and I'll tell you this, 'he ain't quiet' !! He has been featured in the local newspapers quite a few times and has started writing extensively for not only our own SPI magazine, but for many others as well. Brain has been interested in strange phenomena all his life and has just recently been investigating a haunted pub in the town of Tillicoultry (near Alloa). He has also been investigating a haunted pub in the small town of Doune (near Stirling) and I remember Brian and myself's investigation of the haunted Arbroath Abbey - what a fascinating case that was. As I said, although Brian has been interested in strange phenomena since he was around 13 years of age, it was only since he met me a few years ago, that his interested was kindled once more. Brian is a firm believer in life after death and is himself, to a degree, slightly psychic. On that Arbroath Abbey investigation, he detected a fragrant smell coming from one particular area within the Abbey. He has also witnessed a number of strange phenomena in his time, and I hope to feature some of Brian's experiences here in our SPI England news in future updates. Brian recently informed me that he has written a book entitled the 'SPI Files', which a well know publisher is currently having a look at. Brian's book features cases in which he has assisted SPI and I'm sure it will prove to be quite an interesting read. He mentioned a few cases to me on the phone, and I'll tell you this, I was on the edge of my seat. If only UFOlogy and psychic research had more people of the calibre of Brian Allan then I'm sure that we would be that much closer in regards to solving these most perplexing mysteries.

AN AUSTRALIAN UFO !!!!

At the moment I am working for Vodafone (Pay As You Talk) customer care in Brentford, a job which I thoroughly enjoy. Not only am I dealing with customers' concerns in regards to their phones, but I am putting on top-up cards for them and generally assisting them with their queries. As in any working environment, people start talking and getting to know about one another. Once it became known that I was interested in UFOs and the paranormal, a number of people approached me with their own interesting tales. One of the most interesting was from one of my supervisors who informed me about a triangular-shaped object that he witnessed in Melbourne Australia back in 1996. He was driving down the south eastern freeway at 8:30pm when he looked out of his windscreen and observed a large, grey triangular shaped object roughly 100 feet up in the air. It was stationary and hovering and was only around 25 yards from the road. His first impressions were that this must be something 'of ours', and he felt that it was some kind of new Harrier Jump Jet. He rolled down his window and was surprised not to hear any sound from this large object which he was now fairly close to. As he was travelling fairly fast, he went by this object whereupon the object took off at an exceptional speed directly in front of him. He informed me that if this was our own technology, then by god we are doing well in regards to having something like this. He said that it took off like a speeding bullet and was gone in seconds.

At the moment I am reading (for review) Tim Matthews book, UFO REVELATION, Cassell Plc, Wellington House, 125 Strand, London, WC2R OBB (£9:99) ISBN 0-7137-2733-0 in which essentially the author is telling us that we have no extraterrestrial space-ships visiting our earth, that it is our own technology. I must admit, I'm half way through this book and he paints a very convincing picture (at least for a large percentage of incidents). Watch out for my review of this book and also Tony Dodd's new book which I was recently sent for review due out next month (March). Anyway, was the object seen by my supervisor of the alien variety (!), or was it purely a black budget aircraft which is currently under wraps ? And if that is the case, what was it doing flying/hovering near a busy Australian freeway ? God, I love this subject.

ANOTHER SCOTTISH PARANORMAL SOCIETY.

I'm pleased to announce the launch of yet another Scottish paranormal society. It will be run by Andrew Sturrock from Glenrothes. Andrew was a regular at the SPI meetings that I used to hold up in Stirling each month. He is dedicated, enthusiastic, and is someone I'm sure, who will run this club with a lot of integrity and purpose. Andrew is also a gifted artist, and I commissioned a painting of the Fife Incident from him which he duly completed and which now hangs pride of place at my new home in Ealing. Please lend Andrew your support, he can be contacted at the following address:

Paranormal Sightings and Events, Glenrothes.

WHAT CONSTITUTES PROOF - IS IT THE BELGRAVE HALL GHOST? !!!!

I'm in this field purely and simply to try and draw the public's attention to the many weird and wonderful mysteries which abound. I'm trying to inform them that there is a case to be answered, and that there are things happening 'out there' which demand investigation. That's all fine and well, but what constitutes proof ? What constitutes hard, reliable evidence, evidence that we can safely say is the 'Real McCoy' ? As we know, photographs can be faked, videos can be faked, we are living in the Steven Speilberg world of amazing computer graphics and images. The DreamWorks laboratories over in America produce many wonderful images for many different movies, some which would take your breath away. All this serves to illustrate is that it is very hard to prove something to someone in regards to a UFO photograph or video, and of course the same applies to the paranormal and ghostly field.

Something was captured on a video security camera recently which I feel, at the very least, is something which we should consider valuable, valuable in the sense that it may well serve, (maybe not prove), but at the very least, to show that strange things can and do get captured by video cameras.

The location was Belgrave Hall in Leicester, England. A video security camera was trained on the front entrance to the hall when suddenly at 04:48am on the 23rd of December 1998 a misty, smoky effect just materialised in front of a window, and a few seconds later it just disappeared. The hall, which was built in 1709, has always had a tradition of ghostly phenomena and is reputedly haunted by a woman by the name of Charlotte Ellis, a suffragette who lived at the hall until the early 1900s. Staff were mystified, as the camera which normally takes an image every second, appears to have frozen for five seconds to capture the strange phenomenon. The proprietors of the hall called in a security firm as they thought that they may have had a break-in, but much to their surprise, everything was in order and nothing was misplaced. Belgrave Hall (which is now a museum and attracts 15,000 visitors a year) is considered one of England's finest 17th century middle-class homes. Paranormal investigators are currently studying the film and hope to reach some form of conclusions in due course. This impressive piece of video footage was shown by national television news at peak time and created a big stir, and it's pleasing to see footage of this nature being aired on prime-time TV But is it evidence of a ghost ?? Well, like I say, what constitutes evidence ???????

MALC LECTURES AT BRIGHTON COLLEGE.

I was kindly invited by the headmaster of Brighton College to present a lecture to his 6th formers, and so on the 24th of February, Judith and I drove down to Brighton, (the first time that I've actually been there). Brighton is a lovely place, and as I was looking at Brighton Beach, my thoughts went back to those heady days during the 1960s when many battles were fought on that beach with the 'Mods' and the 'Rockers'. Songs from the Who's Quadrophenia filled my head as I looked in the direction of Brighton Pier, the Esplanade, and the many beautiful hotels that were situated on the sea front. I was lecturing in the great hall of Brighton College and it was pleasing to see that everything had been laid out for me - TV and video, slide projector and screen, microphone (although I didn't use it), Perrier water and podium for my notes. The audience were made up of between 80 and 90 6th form boys and girls (with some teachers thrown in for good measure !) For only the second time in my life, I publicly lectured on the paranormal, and I presented some cases from the files of SPI from my time in Scotland. I talked about the times when I've been touched by a ghost (twice), I talked about Victorian Spiritualism and table tilting and seances, and I also spoke about ghost photographs and would you believe, my interest and research at Loch Ness. I could have spoken all day, but time again was my enemy. This audience were a great bunch, and I wasn't sure how 6th formers would treat me. However, they were attentive and not one egg or cabbage came my way !!!!! I thoroughly enjoyed my lecture, and I would like to thank the headmaster Anthony Seldon for giving me the opportunity to speak. I do enjoy speaking to 'non UFO & paranormal' audiences, as I usually speak to audiences who are by and large 'into' these subjects anyway, so it was a nice change. After my talk, a number of 6th formers approached me and related their own strange experiences, some of which were most intriguing ! All in all then, it had been a good day, and although it was bitterly cold as Judith and I ventured out onto windswept Brighton Pier, the Pier bar soon made up for the cold, (as did that wonderful Brighton fish supper) !!!

THE TIM MATTHEWS/IUN SOUTHPORT UFO CONFERENCE.

The IUN (Independent UFO Network) was a big force in British UFOlogy a few years back, and their magazine UFO BRIGANTIA was a very good read. The IUN at that time had a number of good researchers within it, Philip Mantle and Dave Clark, to name but two. The main force behind the IUN at that time was researcher and author Andy Roberts. The IUN folded some years ago, and it was a big loss I feel to British UFOlogy at that time. However Andy Roberts is now once more the driving force behind the new and revamped IUN and they had their launch day on Saturday the 26th of February at Tim Matthews Southport UFO Conference. Both Judy and I braved the atrocious weather conditions as we drove up to Southport. The rain was so bad that it was sometimes hard to see where you were going. The windscreen wipers couldn't get rid of the rain quick enough and it was in part, 'very scary' (especially driving past those heavy-laden articulated lorries). Thankfully we got to Southport O.K., settled down in our hotel, and the following day, with our friend and UFO colleague Gloria Dixon, (BUFORA's Director of Investigations), headed off to the venue for the conference. A large blackboard with the words 'UFO CONFERENCE' met our gaze as we neared the venue, whereupon a large and smiling Tim Matthews thrust his hand into ours and welcomed us inside. Inside, we found a large sized hall with smaller ante-room nearby which was filled with the usual UFO paraphernalia, i.e. UFO books, magazines, posters and pendants, keyrings, you name it, you could find it here. They were even selling cartoon posters taking the mickey out of UFO researchers such as Jenny Randles, Tony Dodd, and Harry Harris, (sad) !

The hall was by now filling up, and the surprise factor was, that looking around, I could see more UFO researchers from different parts of the country and from different societies than there were members of the public. Researchers I saw were, Tony Eccles, John Heptonstall, Dave Sankey, Mike Wooten, Andy Roberts, Dave Clarke, Eric Morris, to name but a few. The first speaker of the day was Jerry Anderson of UFO Kent. I had heard much about Jerry but I had never met the man nor heard any of his lectures. Jerry presented a number of cases from his files, each one proving to be more interesting than the last. I found Jerry to be a very good speaker, and someone whom I could have listened to all day, indeed, it was sad that he had to finish as some of the cases, peppered with his use of audio tape, acid tape and video, were cases that I had never heard of before. Following on from Jerry was seasoned researcher and author, Jenny Randles. Jenny spoke about the infamous Peter Day film. As most UFOlogists should know, that was the piece of film which depicts an orange ball of light moving from left to right above a range of trees. Peter Day swears blind that it was a UFO, but research by Jenny and others proved it to be dumped aviation fuel set alight and burning as it fell to Earth. The reason which, of course, was that the aircraft that deposited the fuel was in trouble, and would shortly crash in an area which is now known as Milton Keynes, (thankfully Milton Keynes wasn't built/around at that time or we would have had a major catastrophe on our hands.) Peter even today won't accept Jenny's theory, and still maintains that it was a UFO that he saw. Jenny respects his view but of course doesn't agree with it. During the break, Tim Matthews gave a presentation in regards to his findings concerning triangular-shaped aircraft, which he firmly believes are our own technology, that these triangular shaped 'UFOs' are not alien space-craft but are new, sophisticated aircraft currently being flown throughout the skies of the world. I didn't manage to catch all of Tim's lecture, as myself, Judith, Gloria Dixon and Tony Eccles held a brief impromptu BUFORA meeting between ourselves out in the foyer. (What a place to hold a BUFORA meeting, in the camp of the IUN !!!).

After another break (and meeting up with London Weekend Television researcher David Donnelly who came up to see me and others), it was the turn of the charismatic Andy Roberts, that bastion of UFOlogy whom you either love or loathe ! Andy spoke about the famous Berwyn Mountain case, that of an alleged UFO crash in the Berywn Mountains of Wales. Andy presented his findings that a UFO was not the cause of the event, that it was just a mixture of ordinary mundane events that only served to confuse and confound other researchers into believing that a UFO was behind it. It was good to see Andy not get heckled this time, for the last time I saw Andy present this case (at the Lapis UFO Conference in Lytham St Anne's a few months ago) he was given a hard time of it by the audience !!

Following on from Andy was Dr. David Clarke. Dave was presenting his findings into what's now know as 'The Sheffield Incident'. This is a case which some feel to be the result of a crash caused by a UFO, however Dave will have none of it. He feels that this case falls into the category of an IFO, and that like the Berywn Mountain case, there were a number of elements, all coming together, which only confounded people into believing that a UFO shot down a Tornado Jet. It's a major case, and is too much to go into here, and Dave certainly presented interesting findings which did look impressive. Of course, this was only one side of the coin. Another researcher, Max Burns, would have us believe differently, that a UFO was seen that night and was chased by a number of Tornado jets. Max and David don't see eye to eye on this one, and there has been an extreme wealth of tit-for-tat tirades on the web sites, not only between Dave and Max, but between others as well. Even I am coming in for some stick for having Max Burns as my first speaker for the BUFORA London lectures. Some people believe that Max shouldn't have his say, that he is talking nonsense, but I am of the opinion that I live here in the U.K., that everyone has the right to their opinion, this isn't Russia, we don't stop people talking here, and it will need to be a very brave man who will tell me not to put Max Burns on a BUFORA platform in June. Max will have his say in regards to this case, that is a fact. The public have a right to hear both sides of a story, not just one side. And although I found Dr David Clarke's lecture ,which served up many facts, very interesting, I wish to hear Max's version of events also in order to make up my mind. Since when does any UFO researcher believe one version of events without trying to find out what someone else is saying about it. ? Hasn't the public a right to make up their own mind !!!

Please note that Max Burns is presenting his side of the story of the Sheffield Incident at the BUFORA London Lecture. Please note this date and be there.

"CHASING MOONBEAMS, WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE"?

GLORIA DIXON,

Saturday April 10th 1999,

(same venue and time as above).

Please try and be there, bring a friend, mention it on your web site and E-mails. UFOlogy needs debate, but ultimately UFOlogy needs honesty and a desire to get to the truth and not try and confuse the issue. Something undoubtedly happened that night, and we need to know everything before we can decide who is right, and who it wrong. It would be wrong of me just to put Max Burns on a BUFORA platform about this case, so let me make it clear that Dr. David Clarke has accepted my invitation to present to BUFORA his version of events in regards to this incident. The date for Dr. David Clarke's lecture will be given in our next month's web site placements, so look out for that one.

O.K. following on from Dr David Clarke was meant to be James Diss, but sadly he didn't turn up, so we had Tim Matthews give a few thoughts about UFOs and research after which he turned his conference over to the attendees. One chap took the stage dressed in an anorak (oh dear) and said how disappointed he was with the conference as it had been totally sceptical throughout, (everyone knew it was going to be that way anyway, apart from him it would seem). He proceeded to state that there was a case for some kind of 'alien' intervention but was heckled by certain members of the audience. During the man's attempt to convince us about 'aliens', Andy Roberts threw up his hand which contained a small model of a UFO, flicked a switch and a whirring and whooshing sound came from the UFO which filled the hall. Of course everyone fell about laughing, but I didn't. I did not find this amusing at all. Tim had invited members of the audience to have their say, and they should have had their say with respect, and not be treated to this school-yard mentality. Would Andy have liked it if someone did this to him ? I think not.

All in all then, this conference was certainly different. We knew it was going to be sceptical, (although Jerry Anderson did present cases which at the very least did indicate some form of 'alien' or should I say, 'unusual' presences). Tim Matthews is a dedicated researcher who firmly believes that UFOs are all man made, although he would admit to accepting that somewhere in the vastness of the Cosmos there must exist some kind of alien beings, but he does not think that they are currently coming here. (please see my review of Tim Matthews new book in the SPI Book Review section). Any researcher worth his or her salt must look at the other side of the coin, we must take a look at what the sceptics are saying. British and world justice have courts of law where we hear both sides of the story, this should always be the case for UFOlogy. Even I come in for attacks, more so from Scottish researcher David Colman (as mentioned elsewhere in this web site placement). David has tried to bring me down with every opportunity he has. I tried to ignore this, but people may start believing this nonsense, hence I'm asking people to start looking at the other side of the coin and hearing what I've got to say.

UFOlogy is most certainly a pot-pourri of strange and bizzarre beliefs. The people that work in UFOlogy are themselves sometimes an enigma, and perhaps we should sometimes question THEIR intentions. There is a lot of mistrust and back-stabbing going on in our subject and I can only hope that we can somehow stamp this out, that we can all work together in harmony. In a perfect world this would be the case, but I don't think it will ever happen. It's a sad indictment of world UFOlogy where people's 'belief systems' can sometimes colour their quest to get to the truth. But that's the world we live in. There will always be differences of opinion, which of course is fine, but when this opinion is not based on any clear and honest facts, as it is in David Colman's case with me, then we are on the slippery slope of accepting babbling buffoons promulgating nonsense which others might believe.

I mentioned that I was in a philosophical and deliberating mood this month, and I apologise if I have gone on too much about this. At the end of the day though, this web site is for news, and if that news has a bearing on our subject, then I have a duty to report it.

BONNYBRIDGE IN THE NEWS AGAIN !!!!!!!

UFO 'hot spot' Bonnybridge, in Stirlingshire, Scotland, was featured once more in the Scottish press during January 1999. This time it concerned, would you believe, a UFO landing spot! Apparently a Glasgow academic by the name of Yan Tung Li has come up with the idea of trying to get someone to build a landing beacon to help extraterrestrial visitors (the newspaper's words, not mine !) to help guide UFOs to land in Bonnybridge. Yan Li from Strathclyde University believes that a huge, luminous, flashing tower could have benefits for the town. He reckons that tourists would flood to the town to view the beacon and that ETs might decide to come down in their 'flying saucers'. Mr Li's primary intention is to promote interest in science through, as he puts it, 'science fiction' ! Well, what can I say ! Billy Devlin from SPI Scotland stated that although there were several hundred UFO sightings in and around Bonnybridge during the early 1990s, Bonnybridge as a whole was quiet now, a view reflected by Jim Allen of the West Of Scotland UFO Society. Flashing beacons, theme parks, visitor centres, what next ?! Councillor Billy Buchanan, one of the main players in bringing to the world's attention these UFO sightings, has always strived for a visitor centre in Bonnybridge, a place where people can go to learn what has been going on in and around the town. Billy and I are hopeful that this will some day come to pass, for believe you me, Bonnybridge has indeed been visited by many thousands of people not only from here in the U.K. but by many other people from all corners of the globe, and it would be nice if they had somewhere to go, something to look at, but a flashing beacon tower ! I think not.

MY POSITION ON THE A70 INCIDENT.

Readers of the January SPI England news will no doubt have read of my 'change of heart' in regards to the use of hypnosis as being a reliable tool in trying to open the sluice gates of the mind into remembering images and details which 'might' be there. People who know me will know that I have sat on the proverbial sceptical fence for many years in regards to what was behind the UFO mystery, but all that changed when I worked on what's now known as the 'A70 Incident'. This concerned the abduction of two men from Edinburgh on a lonely stretch of road near Tarbrax, West Lothian back in 1992. That case, and my heavy involvement in it, made be believe for the very first time that we were indeed (as far as I was concerned), dealing with a very real, and dare I say, extraterrestrial or interdimensional contact. Of course, this belief came not only from meeting and discussing events with these two men, but also from the hypnosis which was used at that time. This all coupled together to make me 'believe' that this event was real, it did happen. And may I remind readers that both these men asked for hypnosis, they agreed to it, and I never at any stage pressurised them into going forward with it. Anyway, some people have asked the question, do I now, because of my recent misgivings about hypnosis, think that the A70 case isn't real, that it didn't happen ?

May I say here that I am convinced that this case is real. I am convinced that it did happen, and that the recall that both these men came forward with under hypnosis was real. That may sound like a contradiction in terms in regards to my new feelings on hypnosis, but I'll tell you this, hypnosis is not the full issue here. I worked very closely with both these men, I got to know them very well indeed, and yes I did ask Garry to go forward publicly with this case in the hope that it would encourage others who shared similar abductions to come forward, (which it did).

I would also like it to be known that Garry Wood has no problems with the use of hypnosis on him - he is glad that it was done. It has helped him come to terms with that eventful night. Garry has given me permission to tell those people who feel that I have disrupted his life to phone him, where he will tell everyone that he is pleased with me as a researcher, and, as I say, by the use of hypnosis. People are writing things (Kevin McClure/David Colman) who hardly know Garry, who were not researching this case. It's like talking about Jamaica, you can talk till you are blue in the face about how nice this country is, but unless you have been there yourself, you'll never really know how beautiful it is. Comment is fine, but malicious rumour-mongering is not. The A70 case is real, it did happen, and for those who think otherwise, then you are entitled to your opinions, but I hope your opinions are based upon the true facts of the case, and are also based upon knowing the men. Garry Wood and Colin Wright are both courageous men who have been attacked by faceless people who think they know what they are talking about. Research for me is a pot-pourri of people from all persuasions who share different beliefs and opinions. All I can say is I am confident, and will always be so, that what came out under hypnosis on Garry and Colin was true, the A70 case is genuine.

BUFORA LONDON LECTURES.

As you may know from last month's web news, I have taken over the BUFORA London Lectures. I wrote to over 70 people asking them if they would like to give a lecture to BUFORA. It's early days yet, but the response so far has been good. I have lined up speakers for not only this year, but also the year 2000 and 2001. I shall be presenting the full package of speakers in a future web site placement, so look out for that one.

GOOD UFO AND PARANORMAL MAGAZINES TO LOOK OUT FOR.

I haven't got the time to do a full review this time round of the many UFO and paranormal magazines which I receive, suffice it to say I would still like to inform our readers of some of the 'better' UFO and paranormal mags around. They are:

FASTER THAN LIGHT.

END NOTES.

Well that's it for another month. Editors of other UFO & paranormal magazines and web sites may, if they wish, use any of the above material for their publications, so long as they quote their source and the SPI addresses and web-site location. At the end of the day, we are all trying to assist one another with this shared knowledge and information, and if SPI can be of any assistance to serious researchers and not people out to create harm with their vastly inaccurate ramblings then please let us know. As from next month, I aim to introduce onto our web site, a number of interesting articles which initially appeared in ENIGMAS, this was the SPI magazine that I edited for just under 10 years. This will be comprised of various ghost and UFO cases, and believe you me, there are some cracking articles to come. My thanks once more to Judith Jaafar for her amendments and Dean Ladds for his work with the SPI web site, and congratulations again Deano on the birth of your son.
